hey guys, I am a first time poster, I am looking at an apartment in north amityville (polo club 615 broadway amityville ny), I have been reading about North amity and have been seeing nothing but bad things, what are your opinions on the neighborhood and surrounding area, I am single and usually keep to myself, no gang affiliations or drugs, but I do drive a new Mercedes, and in some neighborhoods it has gotten me unwanted attention, so I guess what I am asking is will I get robbed or shot in this neighborhood or is it safe enough for me to live and commute to work and school.

Thank you for all your responses.

In a mercedes you will probably be considered a drug dealer in that area.

Is there a particular reason for N Amityville; have you looked into neighboring communities at all?

I found a nice size and nice looking apartment, and I have to be out of my current apartment by the 1st. so not many choices available.

I can't speak about those apartments since I don't know anyone in there. I would reccomend you spend some time in the complex and talk to the residents and get their opinion on it.

I do know that you really should avoid E. Smith Street and the blocks immediately around it. It's a very notorious block, it has cooled down in recent years but I still wouldn't spend too much time over there. North Amityville as a whole is much safer than it was in previous decades but you should still be aware of your surroundings.

Try Southpoint Apartments in East Massapequa, about 3 miles south of North Amityville. I know it well, nice complex and very safe. DM me for more info. I am not an employee or realtor.

Sorry - had to laugh when I read the title "North Amityville Polo Club" - I wonder how many polo enthusiasts there are in N. Amityville these days.

Lmao, yeah the name got me too, but I think the trailer park next to the polo club housing complex may have several polo enthusiasts... lol
