Its like another $225 a year. That on top of the school tax increases of $500 means your taxes just went up almost 800 in a year. OUCH!

They should increase the commercial tax base by 65% not 57.8% and not hurt the homeowners

If this even comes to fruit then I think its time to put the house up for sale. This is just getting ridiculous.

Just more evidence that government only does TWO things well: attract incompetence and foster inefficiency

Amazing... absolutely amazing.

Clearly, local politicians loathe spending cuts and head count reductions, so we, the homeowners, are their bank. Only we don't make loans, we get robbed.

This comes in the face of rising unemployment on LI, a private-sector job market that's pays less and less and the most expensive homeowner carry costs!

Amazing. I sure hope I can find a buyer for my home by 1q2013.

Yes, do it while your real estate agent can still say "look at the low taxes!" Once interest rates start to go back up, those high taxes are really going to bite the Long Island home seller.

I am going to list my house this week.
This is only going to set a precedence for the rest of LI towns & villages as long as no representatives are willing to fight for us.
I can not continue to support outrageous civil service salaries, benefits & pensions & neither should any hard working small business owner or worker here.

That's what we did over the summer. There's no voting as good as voting with your feet. Good luck to you.
