Hello everyone,
We are a family of four with two young children (4 & 1) and are looking to switch from our two bedrrom apt on the upper east side to a house in the suburbs. One of the areas that matches our search criteria (good schools, good commute to manhattan & nice neighborhood) is Manhasset in Nassau county. We know about the schools & the commute but don't know much about the community. I would appreciate some feedback from current/past residents & people who are familiar with that town. I would like to know if it's a good community oriented town for young kids or is it a kind of place where people, more or less, keep to themselves? Thanks!
I don't know if things have changed since I was a kid but Manhasset had one of the most expensive school districts in Nassau if not all of Long Island. But if you saw the HS you knew the money was literally being poured into it.
Manhasset is a great community and its easy to make friends with other families that have kids. Since Halloween is around the corner, you can visit yourself and see how friendly everybody is during trick or treating.
