I currently live in Old Bethpage and have a great offer from a good company in Stamford. Does anybody have a similar drive/commute? If so, how long does it take? Is it in some ways a reverse commute?
My bil commutes from North Great River ; exit 58 on the lIE to Stamford. Another person I know commutes from Yaphank to Stamford. Both of them have the Toyota Prius which is great for the hov lane.
My DH used to commute from Stamford to Hicksville a number of years ago. He eventually gave in and moved to Woodbury. I know if was a rough drive for him. (I'd ask him more about it, but he's in China at the moment.)
The ironic part is that he now commutes from Huntington/Centerport to Morris Plains, NJ three times a week and that commute can sometimes be between 2.5 - 3 hours one way.
Interesting. I'll try it out soon as a test run. But once across the Throgs Neck, I'd imagine it should be smooth sailings at about 7:30am? Thanks for the response...

I have a co-worker that comes to Westbury from Greenwich...takes about 35-45 min she says..comes in normal 8:30-9AM.
My old boss used commuted from Port Washington to Stamford for 7 years.
I've commuted to Greenwich and currently NJ occasionally from the South Shore. It usually takes me 35-40 minutes to get over the Throgs Neck.
When I went to Greenwich - I used to hit traffic by the toll near New Rochelle and then I could see traffic bottling up at Exit 3 in CT. My total commute time to Greenwich was probably anywhere from 55 (on a good day) to 75 minutes.
