O'Reilly said he grew up in levittown. That was a lie

When pushed on it he said where it borders Westbury. Thats another lie.

He tried to portray that he grew up in a working class background. Yet another lie.

His show is called the No Spin Zone. Perhaps the biggest lie

Honestly there is no comparison. Westbury sd is on the rise recently;however, most of the folks in the "village of westbury" that are in the westbury s.d. send their kids to private school from middle school age on. Almost 80% of the s.d. stems from New Cassel residents, who, in general, are of a lower-income bracket. That's why the free lunch ratio is 76% for the s.d.

Even still, the area represents a value over other areas in the surround northshore area where the same home may cost $150-200k more. One could take that money and send their children to private school...There are plenty of homes in the $450K to $850K range that would cost significantly more in a neighbooring northshore district with a similar feel....Wheatly Villa comes to mind...

To be honest Westbury High School, sits geographically in Old Westbury, of which I am a couple of blocks away. Some of those homes are zoned in Westbury s.d. but clearly, children of those homes would be attending private school.

The reality is, that the village has been given quite a face lift, and the areas northeast & northwest of the north state are the prettiest due to it's bordering Old Westbury and the North Shore (via Jericho Turnpike).

The day the s.d. begins to excel above the norm...property values will soar like other northshore communities....

To prove a lie, you need to show the truth: so, exactly in which hamlet was the O'Reilly home located?

When pressed on it he claimed that he grew up in the area where Levittown and Westbury BORDER each other. There is NO such border. Thats proof right there.

I am still unsure why he would fabricate something that seems so minor. It is not as if he pretended to grow up in the projects in the South Bronx or something. Why bother when the distinction between the two towns appears not to really even matter? .

You'll need better proof, because the "Levittown, NY 11756" and the "Westbury, NY 11590" postal zones do abut each other and have a small common border, and for most people (and NEWSDAY) unfamiliar with the correct borders of hamlets and mistakenly belief that the community named in a place's mailing address is the name of the hamlet where that place is located, the statement that " ... Levittown and Westbury BORDER each other ... " is mistaken, but not a lie.

The cachet associated with "Levittown" bespeaks that O'Reilly is just one of the lower middle class regular folks, which would not be the same message if he said he was from "Westbury".

He wanted to portray himself as coming from a lower-middle class/ working class background, which wasn't the case. By saying he was from Levittown it makes that "story" appear true.

.......but isn't Westbury (not Old Westbury) a kind of not so great area? Not as nice as Levittown?

No, its actually a pretty good area. It gets a bad rep because of New Cassel, which shares the same zipcode as Westbury and is also part of the Westbury S.d. Westbury itself is very much middle class, with higher median incomes and property values than Levittown (despite the school district). This was even truer during the time that O'Reilly grew up when Westbury had a very large upper middle class population.
