Does anyone know what type of tickets/points can a red light camera detect ..
Does the red light camera program issue moving violations/tickets/points as listed on the DMV site? About the NYS Driver Point System | New York State DMV
i took a right turn on a green light (not arrow) in the lane for opposite direction (lanes are separated- V shaped- but at night i got confused as there was hardly any traffic, so took the farther right which was for traffic coming left), quickly realized my mistake and took a U turn in about 10 feet and went the right way. camera probably flashed..
What kind of violation/points would this be ? reckless driving 5 points or driving the wrong way 3 points?
appreciate your response !!
I'm pretty sure that the cameras are set up to only go off when you cross into the intersection and the light is red. I don't believe they're set up to detect any other traffic violations.
Further, there are no points to your license because they can't prove who's driving the car.
ok thats good to hear.. i got a bit worried as to what that type that might mean.... just that i think it flashed as the intersection had a red light camera.
So there wont be any points at all ? and just a fine if at all?
would be my first time then.
i was worried so i asked. You didnt answer anything clearly. but i take "theres nothing" as a good sign though i dont know what that really meant.
Don't like cameras find a way to dodge them. Otherwise we have to teach good driving manors for all people no matter what race/relgion/creed. Another law created to generate revenue. It does some good yes but it is uneeded. Making law-enforcement uneeded. Meaning less jobs and more smaller insignifgant fines increase.
The logic behind these laws; If a person crash their car over a red-light. They deserve not being responsible enough, to check for traffic first. Many lanes without lights I see' and people zoom by. A person almost hit me over one day and they kept going without stopping. Then I almost walked into on coming traffic because a car from no where jusst zzzzzooooommmmmeeddd byy???
THE TRAFFICE CAMERA ONLY GIVES TICKETS. IT DOES NOT DETECT POINTS. THAT IS YOUR JOB TO KEEP UP WITH WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT. SO WORRIED AVOID DRIVING AND JUST PAY THE FINE INSTEAD OF INSURANCE. Some states allows people to pay a fine ( fee etc ) instead of having insurance. It is an option. However other states force ensurance for revenue. So if you drive in an hazardous area keep that insurance.

I never realized that people of certain races, religions and creeds weren't taught driving manners. Thanks for pointing this out. Do you know which races, religions and creeds ARENT taught driving manners?
@MrBitterNess , i dont think @RegalSin meant it in the way you interpreted. He/She just meant like in "everyone".
Thanks for the responses. I am glad there are no points. Ill pay the fine if i receive a ticket.
