If Anthony Bourdain ever comes to LI, what places should he hit up, for his show Parts Unknown of course? I am sure he has been here before, and knows it very well. But if he is doing his show Parts Unknown here, what places would you want the TV audience to see to really get what Long Island is about?
Wow, pipe dream thread of the week. Unless he does a bagels and pizza episode...oh wait, even that wouldn't include Long Island. LI is more of a Guy Fieri type of dining town (maybe). Bourdain goes for a more creative, culturally diverse and adventurous dining experience.

Kitchen Nightmares (I think that's the name) with that very abrasive chef came to Babylon Village about seven years ago & attempted to help an Italian restaurant on Montauk Highway (Peter's , I think). It was a disaster and the two brothers who owned it had a fist fight right on the sidewalk on worldwide television . Classy . What a plus for the village.
The place closed as did another family restaurant that the show "helped" in East Islip.

Kitchen Nightmares also went to the Handlebar Restaurant in Mount Sinai years back and turned it into a gastropub (in fact they even titled it as "Long Island's first gastropub"). I think it was sold within a year or two after that.

That place changes owners every couple of years, it's just not a great place for a restaurant.
