We are looking at moving into the Bellerose Village area from our apartment in Forest Hills.

A had a few quick questions regarding schools/camps if anyone could shed some light.

1. My youngest son is currently in daycare and has an IEP for Speech,PT, & OT. Will all these services transfer over in Nassau county from NYC DOE?

2. Any suggestions for UPK for that area?

3. Is there a good daycare or summer program for children around 4 years old for summer?

4. What summer camps might be available for a 7 year old in Nassau with 8-5 hours and bus service. We sent our oldest to CQY in Forest Hills.

5. Is Bellerose Village a safe area, i know its very close to Jericho. The homes are beautiful and we want to be very close to the Queens border.

Thanks,

J

IEPs do not automatically transfer. Bring all your documents with you when you register and the district will let you know what, if anything, you need to do from there.

LI does not offer UPK. If I'm not mistaken, Floral Park-Bellerose only offers part-time kindergarten.

It is a safe area and lovely. It is not that close to Jericho though.

Referring to Jericho turnpike I'm sure. I wouldn't worry about that. It's a nice area. Floral Park-Bellerose switched to 3/4 day kindergarten I think this year.
