Naw, I love Long Island, but I love my post LI-life as much or more.
What helps me tolerate my new area are the restaurants, our careers, the opportunities for our kids and so many other things. Yes, I miss my favorite beaches, among other things, but I do get to visit them.

Nothing wrong with moving, but enough already with the LI expats who come here just to hammer their former home. You moved, so move on already. Why keep coming back to ***** about an area you no longer live in? Makes no sense. Enjoy your new area and life.

Sounds like you want to move!

Personally I don’t get the Long Island hate, especially from Long Islanders.

Nah, just getting tired of some posters who bring nothing to the table, bitching about a place they ran away from.
We get it you posters, you left. You are so smart for leaving that you must constantly remind us of your uber intelligence for having left that you must continually come back to rehash why you left.

It gets really tiresome.

haha me too.

Don't get me wrong, not everywhere sucks, but NC is like the bottom of the barrel.

Plus if I'm going to live with a bunch of people from LI, might as well just do it on LI

(NC is like LI jr lol)

I’d bet you could find some North Carolinians to help you with that.

I’m not a super NC fan but I did like Raleigh.

I guess because I didn’t leave Long Island hating it I have nothing but good memories and I enjoy going back. Well except for the LIE at rush hour. So far my friends down here from LI all found something they couldn’t get there, like 25 acres of land. But if LI is meeting someone’s needs and they’re enjoying life that certainly doesn’t make them stupid for staying.

I'm trying to leave the island. I'm very depressed here. I feel so beaten down. I have lost hope in life.

regardless of the weather, drive down to the ocean and take a walk. It's the only reason many of us stay here.

Focus on moving and try to get a game plan down to get off the Island. Keep positive by looking for other places that interest you and using that as hope. Look, it's not easy here and I get it. But we only get one chance at this and it could be a lot worse. Keep your head up and look to a promising future. You got this!
