A) There is usually a hefty cancellation fee for pricing contracts. -

Post mentioned he is variable price customer so I'm assuming his contract has expired and he's paying market rates. You are correct about the fee if he's still under contract.

B) Those companies are all owned by Petro and in the past have not negotiated pricing among themselves.

That statement is only accurate if you are still under a contract with one of their sister companies. You get the best pricing if you switch between Oil companies annually. You can switch between Petro and Meenan but you can not be under contract when you call for a quote.

A friend followed my advice and switched from Petro to Meenan in Nov, locked in Ceiling price at $2.29.

No, we’re half way through winter. Why would anyone sign a contract now?

People who just moved in maybe? Are you allowed to buy on demand? Isn't the price like double if you do that?

Doesn’t matter I would still use CODfuel.com until summer comes when prices are generally lower. Just make sure you get your boiler cleaned and serviced yearly.

Best price I got from Petro today via ”retentions” is 2.699 with $99 service contract. Not really interested in that.

FYI I am a Petro customer and Meenan would not give me new customer pricing. I would think the same would apply if you are Meenan customer looking to go to Petro.

Does anyone know how long you have to do COD fuel in order to be eligible for "new customer pricing"?

I’ve been using Romeos Fuel and have no issues at all. Right now it’s $1.88 a gallon for min. 200 gallons on a credit card.
