If your tank is empty, sure why not, but for most people it doesn't really matter, my tank is still mostly full more than 3/4. We had a mild winter, so it wouldn't matter if I signed at 3 or 4, maybe few hundred dollars difference in the end.
Thanks for the update, fuel sure has come down a lot!
less then 1/4 tank. for many, its laying out the money and sit in the tank for many months.
i general, i find it cheapest in the summer. of course its hard to predict energy prices especially with the govt intervening
Petro just offered me 4.419 ceiling price for six month renewal, through their loyalty department. They have officially lost their bird.
I specifically asked for a 6 month deal this past January figuring pricing would drop significantly. They gave me a 4.49 ceiling price back then which I guess was fair enough. Pricing did drop like I said. They don't seem to care.
I figured it would help to get my yearly renewal moved the summer where pricing SHOULD be cheaper. LOL at this pricing. They always used to pimp the NYSERDA pricing to me when the numbers worked in their favor. Funny how their tune changes when I tell them the NYSERDA pricing dropped by almost a dollar in six months, yet they are only dropping my renewal rate by nine cents.
The rep was like "well when i went to the grocery store last year I used to spend XXXXX amount of groceries". Funny how she ignored my response when I said "when i went to the gas pump six months ago I used to spend $5.XX per gallon".
Is anyone even surprised how suddenly as we approach high demand oil season, prices jump.. People spend more time in traffic, waste more fuel due to road conditions and other factors, and heating season approaches, suddenly contract prices are high. I was able to get the company to tune up my burner but I am not sure it's something I can't get done for $200 or less instead of paying the oil company. I feel like if I try to go back to COD this year, I'll get burned again during high season, it just cancels each other, let's face it we never win.
I have Slomins, I paid $200 last year, instead of $150, it covers boiler service/emergency service/yearly annual tune up, but there are a lot of exclusions.
This oil heating is so last century, I can't believe we still have to deal with this. From Delivery to the tanks, the gauges, "trust me I filled up x gallons", all this.. In the meantime we are dealing with driverless taxi cabs.
If you are able to convert to gas it's worth it IMO. My house had oil heat and gas cooking to the switch was easy. I hated when my oil burner would stop working on a freezing cold night. only to find out we were Low on oil or the burner took a crap. I converted in 2009. We had a 500 Gallon tank and we used to do COD back then a full fill up was almost 2,000
