If this POS monster could do this to his own kid imagine what he could do to criminals.
Unfortunately he won’t get the same treatment he gave out to this poor, helpless 8 yo.
He has been charged with 2nd degree homicide, according to CBS news.
It is only a 20 years penalty.
The nanny spoke out publicly, it was just awful. She mentioned that she suspected special treatment because he was a PO.
The school district was on it too. They filed repeatedly with CPS.
Those dirt bags were severely neglecting all the kids, they were sent to school hungry and were wearing clothes soaked with urine.
Unfortunately, the system failed THomas.
The biological mother spoke also, it was heart breaking.
According to reports not all the kids were treated poorly. The girlfriend's 3 girls were fine. His youngest, boy, with no mention of autism or disabilities, apparently escaped his wrath. The question is why did he have full custody in the first place?
Thoughts:
1) He didn't want to pay child support, which would be huge for 3 kids on his salary. Per public records, Michael G. Valva, $85k base, $110K-ish with probable OT etc.
2)The girlfriend, Angela Pollina's facebook page says she "retired" from her job soon after she got "engaged" to this animal. That must have looked great to a judge. What was her contribution besides her child support & possible alimony?
3) He was a cop. The mom was an immigrant, possibly a stay at home, with no good earning capacity and easy to manipulate in court without expensive representation.
4) Where all his money came from to support that huge house, huge mortgage & LI taxes, plus 6 kids, is a mystery. He couldn't even afford to bury Thomas & had the chutzpah to put up a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.

All excellent questions. So sad for this mother, who has very publicly documented everything from atleast 2018 on. Google and watch some of the videos. I am still in such belief, that this went on. The mother couldn’t have been such a threat, if she was immediately given back custody of two other boys after the arrests.
The twitter vids suggesting child abuse from the mother are sad to see.
