Then that is even sillier/dumber They cost pennies to produce and actually stop the virus. Why mandate people wear bandanas?!

Funny we can make tanks and warships and fighter jets like they're 3D printed, but we cannot seem to make nickel masks or test kits?! Employers have to supply masks to their employees by MANDATE. We are all scrambling to find some. Do you think there may be liability later if we pass out masks that are not rated as PPE for COVID and staff gets sick?! It's a guarantee! Every employer, school district, college is fighting over masks now, scrambling to get ANY masks and they are all backordered from August to December. Many in the real world are pissed he's issuing a mandate most cannot fill properly. That's the reality. I was on with my network of vendors and mfgs and they could only toss up their hands and say "order what you like, no idea when we can fulfill it or at what price." And price isn't even a consideration now, we'll pay!! The push has been to get acceptance of the KN95 mask. Meets China (oy vay) requirements, but not FDA. FDA just approved use of them 1st week in April, but those are pretty much long gone already too. Next up, cloth masks with your company logo or Motorhead on them. Exceptionalism in action.

I wish he would make a public decision soon. This not knowing is adding massive anxiety for students, parents, and educators in an already stressful time. We are doing our best but there’s a difference in how you act when you’re in a holding pattern vs when you know you’re destination and are en route.

Logically it does not make sense to return for 1-1.5 months unless there’s a vaccine, which we know there won’t be. No amount of education, diligence, and oversight is going to stop elementary students from doing what kids do- they’re little germ spreaders. Runny noses, coughing, sneezing, touching everything. And there’s physically not enough space for them to be separated. And my students all have hand over hand prompting so that’s constant physical interaction.

That’s not to say we won’t return this year. The “economy” cannot be reopened without kids going back to school, parents need the childcare. Given the Governor’s response to NYC schools being closed for the rest of the year, it’s easy to infer that he intends to reopen schools before the end of the year. I’ll respect him more if he’s honest about his reason being babysitting and lose respect if he pretends he’s doing it for the students. What’s the saying about blowing wind? Just be honest, we’re not stupid.

Yeah when you're guessing what's going to happen you need to read between the lines. They aren't mandating everyone wear a mask in public and then sending back off to school without a mask. And at least here in Wake County, NC, all the masks, gloves and disinfectants that were in schools have been given to hospitals and first responders.

There are no legit (N95 or KN95) masks available anywhere except potentially through your county's OEM (office of emergency management). The govt (State and Fed) has commandeered all the masks and lines of production. The govs and POTUS are duking it out to see who's prettier and more powerful. Mostly a joke anyway, because there aren't nearly enough to make a dent in the shutdowns, even if they emptied the stockpiles. Without masks and tests, the forward progress will be extremely slow.

POTUS doesn't use words like exceptional. He uses great, or truly great. You have to talk like him. It's the only way for half the people here [and the rest of the country] to understand what you're saying.

Sarcasm aside, I think a COVID immunity pass and temperature checks before entering areas without full social distancing should be considered. And I'm not generally in favor of government restrictions - but as it's been made clear that there are too many idiots that won't follow suggestions or voluntary quarantines, it's the quickest way to get as many people as possible back to work and our economy to restart.

Maybe we can make people wear gold stars so we know who is "safe". So those immunity passes can divide citizens and slime more clearly... "Sorry you don't have "immunity" so no work or outside or rights for you!!"

This is crazy...we were asked to "flatten the curve" which meant preventing hospitals from being overrun. We have done that (with the exception of a few NYC locations) and now we're being told stay inside until a cure? I cannot afford to be out of work until 2021. 1200 doesn't by diddly on LI. Live's are being destroyed

No one wants to say it but the vast majority of these deaths have been the very vulnerable...old, obese, high blood pressure. You can look it up. I know there have been others who don't fit that profile but when do we acknowledge that for many the cure has been worse than the disease. 8000 people dying is not the reason to live in caves for the next decade.

Actually it is 34k dead in the country and climbing daily. No one is saying everything is definitely shut down until 2021. There is a plan just released on what the phases if reopening will look like.

The great Cuomo says everything is connected..... I dont know how you do that without opening schools, unless you plan this lockdown till Sept, which will cause civil unrest to happen.
