And don't forget the Republican machine that ran Nassau County in the 70s and 80s that gave those generous contracts to county workers that we are paying off to this day.
Oyster Bay town was even worse. The Republicans ruled with an iron fist.

I'm no fan of establishment republicans, but there is a reason I have never voted for a democrat in 20 years despite being a their target demographic (asian, educated).

Only a common sense, practical goal oriented guy like Trump can get us out of this, no matter how much the media is trying to paint him as some unhinged orange lunatic.
Classic Dem Derangement Syndrome... I mean CLASSIC - someone fell hook, line, and sinker for the media hype!

Not much hope for this country when self proclaimed "educated" people think like this... calling oneself educated and thinking like this is exactly how Trump approaches the analysis of himself. Everything he touches is perfect, the greatest, and gold. Just ask him.

Hey, look at me - I'm educated!

this is it, nobody is going to be able to keep paying commercial rent if this drags on. Congress is done giving out money also.

Do you want to hold up Georgia as a model for success.

cuomo added so many things, they asked him about that today, what happens if we open and its 4 deaths a day instead of 3 in a 3 day rolling period. he said we go into lockdown again on todays press conference. You can go listen to him yourself if you think im lying.

He added 7 MORE strict "goals" a region in NY has to have. So now hes breaking apart NY all in the name of saving lives, but hes the one who created the nursing home corona virus with his executive order forcing them back in the nursing home. thousands of deaths but thats another story.

its a complete disaster. And now hes added 7 more things that makes it impossible to open.

this was only suppose to be a 2 week lockdown. They sent $1200 to people, some didnt get it. Some still dont have unemployment. Cuomo says NY is out of money but refuses to open the state, as his 7 goals make it impossible.

now, congress says no more money, and The extra $600 a week of unemployment runs out in july. And since the rest of the country is open except NY, we wont see anymore funding.

it gets ugly when you take away the extra $600 in NY and you cant work...unemployment weekly is only $430 a week after taxes without the cares act. and like I said with the rest of america open congress will offer no relief

plus there was massive fraud any billions went to big companies and schools and they wont give the money back. hardly any money went to small business its all on newsday, frustration.

Honestly its no a democrat or republican thing, cuomo knows his own pension is in jeporday, and I think hes going to run the state into the ground to try to get a trillion dollars from trump.

The only thing I can take from this is that for some reason, you think it's Cuomo's fault when Congress drops the ball.

its cuomos fault for adding 7 requirements more on top of what these CDC guidelines for business to open.

funny he didnt add anything about rent being tied into his 7 requirements. or taxes. Nobody going to be able to pay rent and taxes if they cant work, he keeps saying when the virus is over. when the virus is over everytime they ask him a question.

great, make it so nobody has to pay rent or state taxes until the virus is over. but hes not offering that is he? It should be tied into his 7 "goals"

what about school taxes? They are not opening up until phase 4 and we cant even get past phase 1, so why should anyone have to pay if he made it so they cant work?

hes offering restrictions but no relief, he said nobody can get evicted, but rent and credit cards still accumulate, big difference.

hes created a bigger disaster in NY now

The lack of comprehension is astounding. He's blaming Cuomo because the White House declared lockdown til May 15th. He blames Cuomo because the Feds let greedy public companies steal all the stimulus, despite promising it to small businesses. Reality has become a lost art.

School taxes are paid locally, nothing to do with the State. The governor does not control the banks or credit cards or private party rents or the price of cheese in Saskatchewan. Everybody is saying "when the virus is over" because no one knows anything (apparently the Fed govt most of all) and won't because it will never be over. The new normal is NOW. Everyone better get their own stuff together. Unlike Trump, we cannot blame the failure to feed our families on China or the Dems. We just have to find a way. Accountability.

Who exactly shut down the state one week too late (contrast NY/NYC with CA/SF)? Remember, DeBlasio of all people called for a shut down the day after SF went to shelter in place.

Who's health department thought it was a good idea to send sick people back into nursing homes creating thousands of unnecessary deaths?

Most of us have had the luxury of having experienced multiple other coronaviruses in our lifetime. Yes, you can get the same strain again, but a year + later and at a weaker state:

"In one small study 30 years ago, 15 people volunteered to have coronavirus 229E, which causes common cold symptoms, squirted up their noses. Ten became infected, and eight developed cold symptoms. A year later, all but one of them returned to be reinfected again. The majority were reinfected, but those who had been ill before did not develop cold symptoms. Moreover, the period during which the patients shed the virus, and were potentially contagious, was shorter."
