Yes. And that's all that's left. Memories.
The entire east end sucks now. Really sucks.

I remember hitchhiking to the ocean and back. Used to be pretty common to see a few people doing that.

DH's memories are Bawdy Barn, Ed's Bay Pub and fights about guests at the share house and who cleans up.

Went to Sag Harbor last Wednesday. I could not believe the traffic at “rush hour” (8 am) heading east. It was really unbelievable.

Ha ha Bawdy Barn. That’s probably what it should have been called (it’s Boardy Barn).

Covid transplants have totally took over the East end. And with that construction has exploded. It’s a total cluster out there!

Twingles, I never set foot in the Hamptons when I was "of that age". I was not into the whole Hamptons scene so I just made an assumption on the BAWDY. Which once again goes to prove that when you make assumptions, you make an A$$ out of yourself. I am glad I gave you a laugh.

The Springs ... middle of nowhere, circa 1972. Walked, yes, walked from LIRR to my friend's great-aunt's summer home out on Gerard ... in early a.m. ... dogs along the way scarred the heck out of me!
Read Charming Billy a novel that partially takes place in East Hampton in the 1970's when the Hampton's were so very far way from Queens ... from NYC. So rural, so peaceful.
And yes, then we went to Sag Harbor & Amagansett to parrrrrteeee. Lord only knows how we ever got back to the Springs on those darker than dark roads. Almost as scary as the early morning dogs!
