I've come across quite a few posts bashing Rocky Point. I know nothing about the area. There seems to be some sort of "inside joke" about it. Since my curiosity was peaked, I did some searches to find out what it is specifically that's so "off" about the area. I found plenty of posts but the vast majority of them basically danced around whatever the issue is. Can anyone enlighten me as to what exactly is "wrong" with Rocky Point? Thanks in advance.
the short version was that there used to be a poster here who posted ALL THE TIME about how Rocky Point was the absolute best place to live on Long Island.

my favorite bits of propaganda from Crooks were his 10 minute commute from Rocky Point to the LIE, the Rocky Point High School Cheerleading team, and the time he compared Rocky Point to Southern California.
As S.I.B. said - there was a poster who lived in RP and always talked it up as a garden of eden. First username was clamboy and second username was Crookhaven, he had some other less used ones. Bottom line when he started here he was trying to sell the house, then his wife got a school district job so he was just championing LI in general and RP in particular as the Greatest Place on Earth. Then his wife lost her job and he got drunk and started posting about how terrible this place is and pretty soon after that we stopped hearing from him.
See, this is yet another useless post; typical of what I found when doing my searches.
