NYS shows the average propane price for the LI region is $3.14 for 12/14/20.

I don't buy propane on LI, but I do upstate. There, my supplier is consistently much lower than my region average. I had a delivery a few weeks ago - the average price listed was $2.41. My supplier was $2.00 - after their "quick pay" discount, I paid only $1.85.

Either way, it seems you paid almost 15% above the average. I'd look around for a new supplier.

They are all in bed together on li. Same as the oil companies. Anyone who uses oil, and propane on li is getting ripped off.

I don't doubt you. Long Island's dirty political machine rivals Chicago. They protect the businesses that support the machine.

At the same time, the average price is the average price. If some company is charging 15% above the average, that means someone else is charging less than the average. I would look around. It can't hurt to see what others are charging.

I dealt with a small local company upstate. Several years back they were bought out by one of the big companies. First year, pricing was normal. Within three years, the cost of propane was insane. About 20-30% above the published average cost.

I made a few calls and found another small local company. This one consistently charged well below the region average. About five minutes of phone calls have saved me several hundreds of dollars every year.
