Just curious. How long are the old folk planning on sticking around here? Is there a average generation age that time is almost due for?

I'm referring to estate sales.

It’s like Hotel California, or a roach motel. They won’t be checking out until they end up in a box.

If they could afford to, why would t they? People in their old age do not want to change their life. If their house is paid off, it makes sense to them to pay $1000 /mo taxes to stick around. They probably don’t want to be in some old age community and have to be around those other old, lonely complaining people. Whatever they want to do is fine.I would guess that as long as they can afford it, they will die here.

My mom lives in one of those community’s 55+. Best decision she ever made. Pre COVID they all did dinners they had events. Coach busses to city for dinner and a show. She has a better social life than people half her age!

Just asking for my own amusement. Is there something wrong with that? House is paid for, except for taxes and heat, water and electric. etc. Still a whole lot cheaper than a nursing home.

why does it matter? My mom is 75 and she'll be here till she dies and so will my 81 year old MIL.
are you waiting for someone to kick the bucket so you can buy their house?
