My nephew got it the other day. Lives in CA and hasn’t been able to get vaccinated,came home for the week and got JJ so he doesn’t have to worry about second vax. He’s 22 and healthy so was willing to settle for it.
I wouldn't bother, since there's plenty of moderna and Pfizer available at the moment. The JJ is only 65% effective.

That's not the reason. Its definitely not as good as the mRNA vaccines.
I know that. I also know how these vaccines were tested. The efficacy rate is apples to oranges.
