Well ... us poor South Shore people don't have that luxury

it's kinda crazy, but I actually enjoy mulching ... plus it makes my house look dope!

CRV but with a baby seat in the middle.

I was alone, so 3 trips and 10 bags per load, so like 2 hours. My friend just had the landscaper do it, $10 a bag and $75 to lay it down. While the guy was there, he helped do extra work by moving 3 bushes for no extra cost.

Nothing crazy about enjoy mulching.

Landcaping is my hobby, not a chore to me, which is why I happily DIY.

And I need to brag, but I pride myself in having the best looking lawn in my entire section.
Everyone has the same weak contractor grass seed lawn.
But my tall fescue, Milogranite with DIY love thrown in, has resulted in the thickest, darkest green lush lawn in the section. And I have the largest lot in my entire section.

And I proudly mow my lawn like a Southshore guy, with beer holder on the mower and sometimes shirtless in the summer. Neighbors look at me funny, but they know who has the biggest and most expensive lot in the section.

I used to haul mulch from lowes/home depot.

But I find if I mulch up all the autumn fallen leaves and lay them down as mulch, it works just as good over the winter and early spring from preventing weeds and other crap from popping up.

I'd rather work on my cars. That's therapeutic for me.

Who or what do you do for dethatching or aerating? DIY, landscaper or not needed?

I work on my own cars too.

I have a neighbor a few houses down that has a Ferrari, and a hydraulic lift in his garage. So there are still a few men that exist in Roslyn/East Hills.

In the past 3 seasons, I have not needed to dethatch or aerate at all.. every spring my fescue is tall and strong with just fertilizing and mowing. Before I converted to tall fescue, I had a dethatching rake (took forever) and aerating rake. Tall Fescue is what makes my lawn stand out.

Well I don't mow my lawn lol, some of us poor South Shore folks do pony up for landscaping

Mulch we do ourselves though. It's cheap & easy enough.

I loved mulch, even the cedar smell, but my new dog is a dumbazz and chews it. So I planted grass. He chews that too. Dumbazz.

They make 5 cubic ft bags of mulch?? I can't find anything with a quick Google about those. That seems crazy. How much would it weigh? A 2 cubic foot bag is about the most that I can handle getting in and out of the car, and I'm a decently fit guy.
