That's a good pay I had no idea it was in 6 figures for teachers? Is that for regular public school teachers? Seems pretty high to me, unless your wife has some specialty that she focuses on?
According to this: https://www.schools.nyc.gov/careers/...nefits-and-pay it's 80's that's if you have experience+masters. Average seems to be 60s-70s?

Regular NYC DOE teacher, she has he 30+ and gets a extra 3k for some nonsense she does during the school day. Everyone has 30+ credits It's nonsense unaccredited online classes. I think the base is $97,xxx. She's not getting rich, the pension makes it worth it.

Specialty doesn't matter, a gym, science, math, gen ed, special ed etc all get paid the same.

Lately I have seen box trucks using the left lane and HOV lane. But this year I have seen way more crossing over the hov buffer than I used to prior to the pandemic.
