I don’t understand how there’s no traffic at 5:30 and 5:45 in the morning. And it doesn’t even seem like the cops are patrolling the HOV lane. I guess I’m wasting my breath on this issue as we can’t do anything to change

I am on the LIE at 8:00am for 25 minutes. Almost EVERYDAY there is an accident! If not not on the way in, then on the way home. That’s just for the 25 minutes I’m on the LIE. I can’t imagine how many accidents there really are per day? People in & out crossing illegally over the HOV lane!
I do however see a lot of cops at 8am & many pulled over. Even on the way home. Yesterday someone was pulled over for using the HOV lane. Of course an accident on the way in & on the way home!

When I see an accident I just assume texting, distracted driving whatever..
Are the rubber necking delays caused by pulling someone over to write them up for an HOV violation worth it? Scan the plate, send the ticket in the mail.
Ah, the world's longest parking lot, i do not miss it at all. I made my escape back in '89 & haven't looked back once. Remember to get a good look at the accidents.

Everbody else is.
1989 would be like a midwest interstate Highway compared to now. Same 3 main roads here with double amount of compared to back then. It’s brutal.

Are you mad there’s no traffic when your driving to wherever your going ? I’m confused. I wish I had that issue.

Which direction, I assume you are talking about east of exit 50? Why are you worried about the HOV lane, your problem is cops not patrolling the HOV lane?

The Southern State through Nassau County is now an all-day parking lot. I got out too.
