/\ /\ The most bizarre and non-scientific (not to mention a bit sickoo) of the NY mask mandates remains in place:
Kids over the age of 2 in daycare programs are still required to wear masks,…
While useless and damaging restrictions on the not-at-risk were hallmarks of the Left over the last two years, this normalization of child abuse in NY really takes it to the next level.

I think you are also going to start seeing a rash of other illness as kids immune systems have been weakened by all this. We just came back from out of state where masks have been out for a long time, and now my kids are sick with 2 different non-covid illnesses.
When my kids were in daycare they ...and my wife and I ...were constantly sick. It was like every other week. I think that has to strengthen kid immune systems. That is something also that has been ratcheted back with all the masks. All the bizarre viruses and yearly stomach virus hit we'd take.

Yes, exactly so in our case. Last fall my tween son got sick on 3 different occasions almost 1 month apart - end of August, end of September, end of October. Each time we diligently trotted to the doctor for a strep test and a COVID test only to find both were negative. It was the dreaded “it’s just a virus” answer meaning there is no prescription just keep him home sick until the sore throat and cough and runny nose go away. The doctor said he was catching all the germs that had been avoided for the last 18 months. And that was even with masks.

Masks didn't prevent other illnesses either, so whether they get sick or not will have nothing to do with mask policy. RSV, regular colds, and strept were raging through schools this past fall, for example.

I'm anti-vaccine mandate and I think masks do more harm than good for kids, but I don't think it's true they are completely ineffective. Something kept my kids from getting a single cold for the last year going to school full time. But I"m not going to argue with you further, I think the masks in schools should have gone long ago.
Checked in... same posts from same people... over and over... still in NY, whining, and screeching about "them". /facepalm
Dude, that's what people do on forums like this. No one comes here to talk about how great their lives are or what a nice time they had eating a bagel on the beach. I've looked at the CD forums for the places I've considered moving to, and they're all full of complaints too - just slightly different. Florida is high on my list as I already go there frequently, but the Florida CD sub forums are full of people complaining that there AREN'T mask mandates, or that crime is out of control in the city, or that the schools suck, or that someone was rude to them in a parking lot. I haven't checked the South Dakoda forums yet, maybe everything is hunky dory there.

Don't worry in a month they'll be back to crying about gas leaf blowers.
