I grew up with physical newspapers and the actual newspaper is better to read if you want to read it from cover to cover. Reading online is great for breaking news but I’m not going to read a full newspaper online when every story opens an ad that has to be closed and/or autoplays an unrelated video I have to scroll up to and close. More often than not the link to a story overwhelms my iPad with ads and videos and causes the page to close and reload. Yes I know about ad blockers but some websites like the Daily News displays a pop up telling me to turn off the ad blocker. I prefer a paper newspaper for leisure reading and online for breaking headlines.

To your point, I feel the same about reading a book - just seem to miss something on my iPad, much rather have a physical book, for me the comprehension is better.
I liked getting Newsday and had home delivery for many years. What made me drop them was when I had a two week vacation hold, but I was still billed for those two weeks. When I called customer service they said I was billed because I could still access the Newsday website online. Yeah sure, I'm gonna read the post off my phone on the beach in Tahiti. Bye!

I bought a Nook years ago and never got into using it much. I like the feel of a physical book and even seeing how much is left to read by looking at the book rather than looking at a page count on a device. I can take a book anywhere and not worry about the cost of losing it or having it stolen. Outside in the summer I sometimes get a warning on my iPad that it is getting too warm from the sun and will shut down. No such problem with a physical book. Also, there isn’t usually any savings in price by buying an e-book over a physical book.
What’s a “Newspaper”?
Almost $1,000 per year! Go buy an IPad & go out for a good dinner! Imagine spending 10k (assuming it NEVER goes up again) over 10 years for a newspaper?

Newsday is dying. They stopped printing their own paper a decade ago, the had to move to smaller digs in Melville after laying off staff to cut costs, and as soon as Altice took over cablevision they cut the money loser loose.
WSJ and Barrons still have paper copies and will deliver to your home FREE.
