If the town took out the tree....and its their tree that damaged the sidewalk, they should be the one repairing the sidewalk.

No Homeowner's Insurance??? That's very risky. Just because you paid off your house doesn't mean you don't need insurance on it. I am astonished by this! As a homeowner and someone who sells home insurance may I ask why you don't have insurance? Regardless you will have to get that sidewalk fixed. if a neighbor trips and falls they will sue you. I hope for your sake your house doesn't burn down because you are up the creek without a paddle if your home is not insured. I'd be more worried about being uninsured. I am shaking my head on this one.

That's what I wrote. Maybe that is because I am still a licensed P&C Broker that, l like yourself, used to sell HO ins. No longer do.
