Well I was right about the new building that went up at the corner of Maple and Union...its going to be low income housing. That'll be a great boost to the area....
Now just watch the rest fall into line. I told you New Cassel isn't getting better anytime soon.

John, can you please post pics of this building?

I highly doubt its 100% low income. I believe every new building must set aside something like 10% of units to affordable housing. Why would that be bad? Most of the time, its a very strict process to just get into one. Wouldn't you like to live in a brand new apartment?

I definately would not want to live in THAT area...that's ground zero for the gangs. As for getting pictures, sorry, I dont do that kind of stuff anymore. Walking around, taking pictures or video in a gang infested area...no way. There's Surenos and MS-13 tags just across the street from that building.

I see that this is an old quote. The buildings are up, and I for one am glad.
My young daughter only makes $46K a year. If it were not for these reasonably priced apartments, she would have to leave Westbury. She and others like her cannot continue to live in their mom's basements.

It is too bad that Union Ave is so noisy. She has trouble getting used to that.

I'm glad to see people are moving into them, I just hope your daughter doesn't get harassed by the illegals that hang out around there. Union Ave seems to be Ground Zero for the illegal alien activity. My neighbor told me they cant even go to that Chicken place anymore because they took that over.
