I would like to change something I said previously. There IS actually 2008 data out there for Grades 3-8 for the English and Math assessments. The data is just not in the "report card" format, but rather in Excel. You can find it here: 2008 ELA and Math (http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/irts/press-release/20080623/home.htm - broken link). Other than that, I can only find 2006-2007 data on the NYS Education website. The newest batch of report cards issued were from 2006-2007. So, it is a bit confusing...

what about if you are looking into living in Babylon village, what school district do you attend. NB or WB? We are thinking of that area to move. Its that or Sayville.

Of all the Babylons, I'd say Babylon Village is the nicest. Most pricey though.

Rachael, your comments are absolutely sophmoric. And you statistics are completely inaccurate. This coming from a so called educator. I really don't understand your beef with NB. Was your heart broken by a young man from NB? But I digress.

My spouse, my now six year old son and I moved to NB from Queens five and a half years ago. We are very happy with the education my son is receiving. He is flourishing, as are my nieghbor's children. He goes to Parliament, BTW. Which scored very well. But I'm sure you will find statistics that state otherwise. Doesn't matter, because you don't live here and couldn't possibly know. You base your comments on misleading statistics and not actual fact. And while statistics are useful and have their place, You my dear have distorted them to tarnish a great place to live and raise children.

Good luck!

You don't know about North Babylon, until you've been there. And test scoes may not be as good as other places, but do you know the drop out rate..? 1%. Exactly. 1%.
AND plenty of people that went to North Babylon got into good colleges. Berkely. Colombia. Just to name a few for you.
Kthanksbye.

Do you realize you responded to a post from OVER A YEAR AGO?

BTW, Berkeley and Columbia - are those the colleges you were talking about? Or did they change the spelling of their names...

Go for West Babylon or Deer Park- not North Babylon. N. Babylon isn't terrible, it's just not as good as the other two.
My personal preference would be W. Babylon but you're fine with either.. just make sure you don't end up with Wyandanch schools which is possible in both areas.
EDIT: Lol.. this post is over a year old but still this post may be useful to a person trying to decide these places in the future.
