I know very little about home maintenance, but it would seem as though I need to get a small section of roof replaced (above my foyer).
Also, my gutter cleaning company told me that I have some water damage where part of my down spouts separated.
Finally, they also mentioned that I lost a piece of siding in an area that I couldn't see from the ground (but verified by climbing up on a ladder). I don't know how long it's been missing.
Whom do I call to look at this stuff? I live in Patchogue.
You need a roofer. Rainwater and ground water run-off may contain salt, acids, bases...... When this water collects near a building, it can damage underground metal, concrete, wood... This is particulary a risk near gutter downspouts and cause significant damage. A roofer should also check the sheathing and why the finished siding fell off.
I used Long Island Roofing and Repairs out of Bellmore for a whole new roof (as well as ripping the two existing layers off and working around skylights) in August and was thrilled with their service, professionalism and wonderful estimate (which was indeed the final price).
Thanks, arangoa. I can use all of the referrrals I can get.
