Its a good setting for spooky tales. Very hilly, narrow roads with BIG Old houses and no street lites. I remember that tale from H.S.

How about Adventureland Amusement Park in Melville, driving through Dairy Barn and does anyone else remember roller skating on Saturday nights at Jones Beach?

The Bayshore roller rink was the best place to skate especially with the pom poms on your roller skates!

The dollar movie theatre was in the village of Northport on Main Street - there was a parking lot on a huge hill across the street and you had to walk down a long wooden staircase to get down to Main Street. The Elwood Cinema was a different one in the Elwood Shopping Center near the corner of Jericho Tpke and Elwood Rd.

There was also a location in Stonybrook but the original was at Walt Whitman Mall. The salad bar was enormous and so were the lines to get in especially on a Saturday night
