Huntington: Great shops, food, nightlife

Northport: Low taxes thanks to Lilco and cute town.

Port Washington: Great shops, affordable parts of town.

Huntington ...maybe 10 years ago. The better areas are very pricey.

Northport definitely.

Cant get a good read on Port...looks a little sketchy by the rail but its got a sweet commute.

Amagansett -- I absolutely love it out there, the proximity to the lobster roll and the beaches doesn't hurt....

Remsenburg -- when we moved, it was either Remsenburg or Stony Brook. We moved west to be closer to family -- who moved south a year later! I love Remsenburg, the shore, the fact that it hasn't been Hamptonized.

Head of the Harbor (town of Smithtown side in the TVCSD. It's a small strip, but it does exist.)-- it's as close as I can come to not leaving my current home. Walk through Avalon, the gaze at the mill pond early in the morning, set down by the yacht club with a cup of coffee and read the paper, greet my friends out walking their dogs, strolling with children, admire the architecture of the older homes. *sigh* I really love my part of LI.

HOH is heavenly, way beyond my reach but an excellent choice given 3v schools.
