Hi Everyone,

Just curious, how is the area off Clinton road in Garden City. Thinking of starting to look for a home in that area and I know it rides along the Hempstead border and I'm not sure if there are a lot of children in the area or how nice it actually is there or if the house values on like Meadow Street, College Pl and Boylston are considering it borders homes which prices are not as high in market value.

any help is appreciated!

The area that is Garden City that you mention is nice, near Roosevelt Field Mall and the Coliseum, however, the area that it borders in Hempstead, not so good. That area hasn't been good for a long time. The part of Garden City which is considered prime, is the Stewart Avenue corridor.

Property values are lower over there because the area, especially Meadow Street, is right up on Hempstead. You can get a house for less money, but crime is higher. Also, people a big concern over there is the future of the Nassau Hub/Lighthouse Project, since the coliseum area is REALLY close to there. It's GC schools and people keep their homes nice, etc but the park over there (Grove) is gross and you get a lot of infiltration from the neighboring towns.

You can get much better value in the western section but houses don't come up for sale very often there.

No matter where you live in GC there will be tons of kids, you can be sure of that
