May be your opinion but you can't back it up.
Ridge was the foreclosure capital of the 1980's (And the building construction is exactly that-1980) and it's in the same "Bad" Longwood SD as N Shirley. But Ridge is better...

He's talking about the SD, implying Floyd is not as good as Longwood, which is not as good as Rocky Point ('Cause he lives there), despite the fact that Rocky point schools hires child porn addicts.
That's a factual statement, btw.

Dude Im just effing with you.

Shirley/Longwoods fine, its just got an image problem and its downstream from BNL which may make some people uncomfortable.

Thats all.

That's a fatual statement btw.

Listen this threads not about RP or the Shirleys.
Its about Ridge which IMHO has come a long long way since the 80s

I don't live in Shirley. I hate Longwood SD.

Um, I lived in S. Setauket and the mail was delivered to "South Setauket". Seriously. Also, There is a sign along Morices Middle Island Road that says "East Yaphank". I'll take a pic one day.

It makes sense to distinguish certain areas to narrow down where you live. "Shirley" is a pretty big place, but if you live in North Shirley, it kinda makes it easier for people to relate to where you live.
Same can be said for South Setauket as it is not in the area people generally associate with Centereach and Selden.
To the best of knowledge, there is no Floyd Harbor!

"North Shirley" implies that there is a hamlet named "North Shirley"; "northern Shirley" might be a more accurate term.

The Panamoka section is by far the nicest though, nice small homes and lots of trees. Very cozy. Also lots of great nature trails all around and the private lake which is also beautiful. Despite not having a downtown it does have a real sense of community to it. I sure hope it can weather the changes occuring on LI. Down by Taco Bell isnt as nice, I think there's some low income apts there off Smith Road. There's always a crowd getting on the S58 bus over there.
That deli is owned by Turks that are related or at least buddies with the gas station guys across the street. When they first opened they had the Turkish flag flying, now they've switched to central American flags and they have a small sign with a lunch special in Spanish. They also have a sign that says "funeral directors lunch special" LOL they are in a unique location, 25 is truly a main road out here, tons of people (including Hispanic people-illegals or not) take it to get to work in the morning and 90% of the funeral processions going to & from Calverton view it as the only place to get a bit to eat. I personally was only in that deli twice when we first bought our house, I know if they relied on business from my neighborhood they'd be dead already. The LPCA did complain about their signage at one point and the issues were resolved.
Agreed there is a low-income pocket off Smith Road, the Ridge Civic Association as well as the association in the specific neighborhood are really working to clean that up. I've been here for 5 years and I have not been affected by that neighborhood in any way.
