What's up with the Valley Stream LIRR parking lots not being plowed today???

I got there around 10:00am and nothing was even touched. There were only a few SUVs that were able to plow their way through the mess and park their cars. I saw some people so desperate to park their cars that they tried to push their way through the snow, but ended up stuck with their wheels spinning endlessly.

I can't believe they expected people not to go to work today when the LIRR was operating on a decent schedule without many delays. There's absolutely no other parking options in VS since you're not allowed to park on the street. I pay a lot of money for a non-resident parking permit and what do they do with their money? But I'm sure the guys who drive around looking to give people tickets for expired meters and parking on the street made it to work today.

I had no choice but to go back home. Thanks to VS for making me miss a day of work for no reason at all except for their laziness.

No, many of the parking lots were plowed. the individual town/hamlet/or jurisdiction is responsible for plowing and maintenance of parking lots, not the LIRR.

That is unacceptable. If it were me, I would have parked somewhere on the street and if I got the ticket, I would have taken it to Village Court and challenged it. You should call the Village and complain. That is really strange as they are usually excellent about clearing the snow. I know you non-resident parkers pay a lot compared to Village residents and you deserve to have the lot ready for you when you need it especially since you are charged so much!
