Hi....I'm sure these questions get asked everyday, so apologies in advance...

So, I'm looking to relocate to the LA area and have been looking at places on craigslist and such.... Is it realistic to find a 1 bedroom apartment in the 750-1,000$ a month range? Doesn't have to be the nicest place, but some what safe at least.... Also, any suggestions on the difficulties of getting a place with out actually visiting it? I'm currently about 20hrs away and wont be able to visit before I move...... Thanks

The LA area is huge and yes, you can find a place in that price range but it may not be the kind of place you want to live. Where will you be working? Use that as your starting point.

Moving into a place that you have not seen , is at best a crapp shoot.
I allowed one tenant that lived out of state to rent one of my houses sight unseen.
Fortunately he and his wife loved it once they saw it in person.
Pictures help, but nothing like seeing it up close and personal.
You can go to craig's list and perhaps find something in your price range.
You can click on one bedroom house in the search box, and I have pictures of what I am currently renting.
Mine are on Monterey road.
Bob.

As mentioned by others, LA is huge -- approximately 4K sq. mi. and with approximately 10M Angelenos.

You should be able to find a 1-bedroom apartment in your price range. However, it will prove to be a difficult task -- especially sight unseen.

What brings you to LA? Is it work? Family? You should consider neighborhoods surrounding your most common destination. If the neighborhood is too expensive, begin to travel out into lesser expensive areas.

In addition to images provided by the rental apartments, you will need to research the neighborhood. Use Google Maps & Street View to survey the neighborhoods.

And, much look to you. As you are brave to move to a new apartment and neighborhood sight-unseen.
