Hi everyone!

I am moving to some apartment near the traffic circle (los coyotes dia) and I was wondering if this is a nice area. I am not familiar with the city of Long Beach so I wanted to see if you guys had any opinions about it. Thank you!

It's absolutely safe, very family-oriented. By the same token, it's not a really exciting, aspirational neighborhood either, but you're walkable to groceries and a little shopping. I've got family right there. They have kids coming over all the time and know all their neighbors. Family-oriented, like I said.

So its safe? Thank you! I feel good now that I will be moving there soon. I was worried I might get a place where I won't be able to walk around the block. I also chose that area since it is nearby school. But I wasn't sure how safe it was since I only visited there once. Thank you for your advice!

If you're on the Los Coyotes side then, really, how unsafe can it be?: The cop shop's right there (next door to the Krispy Kreme! )

Yes, it's safe. People walk around there all the time.

Hello,
I lived in the apts. behind the Police Dept. and Krispy Creme (sp?) for 15 years. I loved living there. However, the apts. were remodeled and the college students took over. Parking and partying became daily problems. Before this time, these apt. residents lived here for 20+ years. I could walk to any type of store I needed, although it was very easy to catch a bus if one needed to. I moved to the west side of town and have regretted it ever since. If I were planning to stay in Long Beach forever, I would move back to this area.

Be careful of judging an area by a school and vice versa. Students are bussed in so there are very few "neighborhood schools". The area is changing, but anything east of Ximeno/Lakewood is still considered a stable and "traditional" type of neighborhood.

There technically is no "bussing" in LB. It is a "school of choice" district so some schools that aren't filled with in neighborhood schools have out of neighborhood children.

To the OP, 90815 is a very strong zip code filled with overwhelmingly, very stable family oriented neighborhoods. It's probably as safe as any place in greater LA.

Hell yes. We lived near Vuelta Grande and Woodruff. It was painfully suburban (we're in L.A. now), but certainly safe and not far from El Dorado Park.
