What species of tree has light purple flowers? There are lots on Del Mar Blvd. in Pasadena.

Also, the Vons on E. Colorado is reopening today, after being remodeled for a year. I think there's a ceremony around 3PM. I'm hoping it still has a big parking lot, which was the main draw for me.
