Neighborhood or city? Malibu, Agoura Hills, Brentwood, San Marino, Palisades, Hollywood Hills.

I like Burbank for nightlife; the AMC Burbank 16 is the third highest grossing movie theatre in the nation (the top two are in NYC), and there's a nice mix of bars & restaurants.

^Agree. Burbank is underrated... from downtown to Magnolia Park.

It depends on what I am looking for: if I were to move back (which wouldn't happen) with no kids I would probably consider Pasadena. It has everything except good schools: If I was going as a tourist and just wanted to laugh, I would say places like Sunset and Vine: to see the really awesome, well kept homes and how the other class lives, there are lots of places: Hancock Park (old money) or Beverly Hills, smaller homes (mixed with larger ones) beautiful area San Marino: touristy: Olvera Street, China Town, areas just barely north of downtown. if I still had kids and I could afford to live anywhere, probably Arcadia, Glendora or So Pasadena. And last, from trendy and fun, Los Feliz and Echo Park.
