With money being tight, I would be happy having only internet access for a while, though I would like to have cable at some point. I contacted Time Warner, who as far as I know does the cable for the area, and they seemed very pushy. At the end of the conversation, when I was on the phone with the national installation department, they couldn't find my new address in their system. I think I was talking to "Time Warner Online" rather than the local Time Warner, so that could have been the problem as well. My question: Are there any other High-Speed internet/wi-fi providers besides TW who serve the Hawthorne 90250 area? My computer already has a wireless card.

You're pretty much stuck with the cable TV monopoly or the telephone monopoly. Not sure if that's AT&T or Verizon in your area. The wireless card in your computer is irrelevant to getting Internet into your home.

I would see if you can speak to someone at a local TW office. (i hate TW by the way, but use it for TV and Internet in my house).
