I'll say that yes, Broadway and Park Fifth (never happen, if you ask me) might present a homeless issue, but the others not so much.

And I am proud to say I rarely park/pay downtown, preferring Metro. Nearly all these projects are close to subway stations.

it didn't cost twice as much for a basic hamburger as just about anywhere else in Southern California
Visitors weren't one wrong turn away from scores of homeless, drug addicts, mentally ill, or gang members.

Thing is, the rest of the country deals with those very same things in their big cities. Try parking in downtown Chicago and you're going to pay hefty, no matter what. I actually believe LA is cheap on parking and much easier to find a spot because everything is so spread out. Everything else in your post also works the same way as well. You take the good with the bad. BTW, it's weird because I was just there last week on Sunday, trying to find a spot for the SB, but came up empty. Downtown was a ghosttown, though I figured there would be something, anything, going on. Ended up in Hollywood and The Grove instead.

I Think it's going to be a while until downtown L.A. begins to finally thrive. I'm thinking another 15-20 years. The city still has alot of work to do, I mean L.A. Live was quite the disappointment i only go there for events and its mostly filled with tourists. These corporations needs to stop building commercial districts that seclude themselves from the rest of the city.

Another 15 to 20 years? If you said that in 1990 or 1995 you would have been accurate.

If you think LA Live is what defines downtown LA you have no clue.

That list is funny Charles...but something tells me the adventurous kid from the SFV that ventured to "seedy" Hollywood for punk rock shows in the early 1980's has turned into a middle-aged fart.

Hope you are having a good time deep in the heart of Orange County.

the plans call for two 185 towers and some other three i think according to emporis and skyscraperpage, also if you go to the developers website

figueroa 755 is proposed, it was never dead, you thought of the previous 755 tower planned to be at the same location

it will fit in great in the skyline
