Get back to cutting trees and digging nuclear war bunkers. We're actually progressing down here.

According to ^^^ NR's paranoia, it's our fault for influencing you. But we'll accept that. We'll also fill up our own gas at the station...we can't claim any influence on that piece of OR weirdness.

I haven't read every post here on this thread. I find plastic bags to be a great inconvenience if/when I must take a bus from the store. They can break very easily even when they are not filled too heavy. I like the new reusable heavy duty type of bag that is made of some type of reinforced plastic, similiar to a tarp. As for canvas, when they get dirty I just wash them.

A money saving tip: find out if your local supermarket will give you a credit for re-using a store bag. This is often not advertised, and you may have to ask at the courtesy desk, rather than a new cashier. Usually this policy applies to paper bags rather than plastic, but it may apply to plastic as well. Ask. Often the refund is only 2 cents, sometimes 3 or 5 cents. Don't laugh. I saved over $20 one year just by re-using a paper bag. That $20 buys plenty of beans and rice, or even a nice cut of meat.

So spend a dollar and buy a recyclable bag; they're very sturdy and can be used multiple times. Once again: it's not about individual convenience or inconvenience. It's about the greater good.

Is having to put on a seatbelt inconvenient? Are paying property taxes so someone else's children can get a decent education inconvenient? Is a smoking ban inconvenient for smokers? Is recycling inconvenient?

Did you read my entire post? Note the part where I said that I wash the canvas ones and like the new reinforced material ones.

How in the hell are we going to singlemindedly turbocharge our voracious appetite for naked greed with all these inconveniences? The very nerve of these commies!
