Breathe some life into L.A.'s bland architecture so we can have our first building with a spire on top?

Spires are cheap ways to increase building height bragging rights.

You keep ranting about bland architecture but all you seem to be concerened about is skyscrapers. LA is a gem for great architecture especially in modern times. Chicago, which you seem to praise so highly is also known for great architecture but its gems are certainly not in its skyscrapers.

If spires and shiny glass towers are all you care for, you might be in luck soon.

I'll leave code writing to those with intimate knowledge of fire science and fireman safety.

Do you have evidence of a code written without public/officer safety in mind?

I don't think it is going to look like that anymore... there has been a major shakeup in the plan - there will only be one tower. Doesn't really matter to me how tall it is, I think the way to make the skyline better is more mid-level highrises that add to the density.

Why don't you want to block out the sun? That's only way LA can become a real city.

Really, if LA never built another highrise I wouldn't care at all. I love the low-mid rise character of LA.

Yep. Its mid-rise density and sunshine are unmatched in the US. Must suck to live in lesser cities.

There is more to architecture than a spire.

[which you couldn't appreciate anyway from the ground]
