L.A. City Council bans medical marijuana dispensaries, mostly - latimes.com That is a lot of dispensaires!

The Feds are also putting pressure on the dispensaries in the Bay Area. I think this trend is heading our way.

I will never understand how hard core schedule 1 pharmaceutical drugs are OK for dispensing but marijuana is not? I actually think it is a conspiracy theory to help the pharmaceutical companies. I think a lot of people would get off of many pharmaceutical drugs if marijuana was legalized.

The reason for the hardcore ban is because it is easy to enforce. It won't get tied up endlessly in court because the law is clear. The pot thing really is a bit out of control right now.

The original proposition that passed that allowed pot said that the dispensaries had to be non-profit, but in LA, they are almost all run as for-profit businesses.
