Just a quick question. How long would a commute from Palmdale to LA be?

Depends on which part of LA and depends on the the time of day (or night).

If "LA" is northeastern SFV or Burbank area, then it is managable--maybe a hour or a bit less in easy traffic.

Anything farther than that, you might want to reconsider the commute.

"LA" is a vast megalopolis, so please be more specific...the community of Sylmar on the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley is technically in the City of Los Angeles and Sylmar is only 35-45 minutes down the hill from Palmdale.

The San Fernando Valley part of LA is easily within commuter range of Palmdale.

Well, if it is during the weekday rush hours, Metrolink commuter train are the better option to dealing with the traffic. Aside from the regular service trains, they have 2 Express trains a day that cut the travel time by about 40 minutes compared to trains making all stops. It takes time for the train to meander up and up in elevation as opposed to the other lines, but it beats dealing with rush hour traffic.

If you're in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, then it would be approximately 30-50 to Palmdale depending on the traffic conditions.

Agreed, for a commute that epically long I would rather take Metrolink
