Hi all,

I currently go to school in North Hollywood while working two jobs (one at the UCLA Med center--a job I acquired through my school; the other was waiting tables at a restaurant my buddy bartends at, which laid me off). I currently live near USC and pay $850/Month but I will not be able to afford this room anymore. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise because I can look forward to ridding myself of the crappy commute and hopefully be able to land a cheaper housing option.

I would prefer no background check / credit check situation as I will likely be spending 1/2 or more of my monthly income on housing. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can look for cheap room fares around hollywood/ north hollywood? I have already looked on craigslist but I would like to ask you guys if you knew of any other places to look? Any help would be much, much appreciated--thank you!

Regards,

CD

Roommates.com

You should be able to find a room in a house with a shared bathroom as low as $500-600/mo.

You can also find a place on craigslist.

My sister found a place (in North Hollywood) by looking at roommates.com & Craigslist. She found most shared apartments/houses ranged from $650 - $900. (she didn't see any for $500 or $600).

She has fairly crappy credit, and also needed to find a place that wouldn't do a credit check. Most said they would, but some (including the place she got) didn't.
