Of course, if you're going by areas with signs in foreign languages - we have Chinatown (with some pseudo Chinese architecture), Little Tokyo, Little Armenia, etc.....

Most of the palms aren't native and LA doesn't exactly have jungles.

Default Newhall is lil' Tijuana

Newhall is lil' Tijuana. Many parts of southern CA look like parts of mexico, because many parts have the same climate.

most of LA seems like if you are in other places in the world, but the vest majority seems as if you are in a latin american country, I am Mexican myself

Yeah, when Axl sang "Welcome to the Jungle" that's not what he meant.

Not just the palm trees but also the architecture, and in the less well-off areas, a certain shabbiness about it. In contrast San Diego, which is closer to Mexico, just seemed less Mexican looking to me.
Here's the sad thing. Mexico is a country and although people say they aren't trying to down "LA" they are because in their minds ALL of Mexico is bad. But it isn't. California was a part of Mexico and one point so I'd expect it to look like it. San Diego looks like some parts of Mexico, Porta Vallarta and other places are very similar looking to San Diego and other areas. I think people get caught up in the Mexico we see depicted in the media and forget that not all of it is this desert-like place. I mean people do vacation out there. But yea, some parts of LA do look like Mexico...so what.

Also mexicos economy is booming...and I'd bet the average Mexican is worth more than the average American less debt

It's funny that people always talk about china or India booming ...but don't realize that our neighbors in Mexico have a good economy now .... It's is overshadowed by the drug violence
