Because a year or two ago he would make all these threads claiming to know everything about LA, and if anyone challenged him they were absolutely wrong. Except he had never set foot a day in LA!

Well like the other comments say, it's deserved isn't it? In his OP he also mentions he will regroup and move to LA with a job transfer (which would probably be a low-level service job at 20-25 hours/week at best) and 5 grand. Even that won't be enough, and he will be in the same position he is now.

I'm still trying to figure out how the hell he ended up staying where he did. I can name 10 places I could have stayed at when I landed in LA, and none of them would have even been a percent as bad as where he stayed.

You really need to have a plan when you do things like this. He ran for the hills the first sign of trouble, and he only has himself to blame.

I would have just stayed and earned some street cred and some notches in my belt. Sheesh.

People, give the kid a break! S/he did not blame LA for their lack of proper research. They took responsibility for their mistake and said they'd return but do it right next time.

Sounds to me like they had a learning experience and that maybe, just maybe someone else might be able to benefit and learn from the OP's mistakes.

The reason no one is giving him a break is because of prior posts he's made. He would challenge you if he felt your opinion didn't agree with his "facts" on Los Angeles. Now, we come to find out, the guy has never even been to LA. I give the guy props for not deleting the thread, but he gets no respect past that.
