My two dream locations if I had the money would be either a home in the Hollywood hills with a great view of the downtown LA skyline or a house by the beach. Any beach.

In Southern California, La Canada (in the hills and very safe), or Manhattan Beach (great weather and safe), or the hills in South Pasadena (central location and safe).

At this point in my life, ideally I'd live in Beverly Hills, just north of Sunset. Still privacy and exclusivity, but centrally located to the Westside, Valley, and Hollywood.

If older and less active, Santa Monica 90402. Maybe one of those condos off Montana or San Vicente... As close to the beach as possible.

Hancock Park/Windsor Square. Love its location. Love older homes. No teardowns. No gated entrance. No mcmansions. No wedding cake chandelier palaces. Just a beautiful, older, clean neighborhood with conveniences close by, in the middle of the city.
