Hey,
So I'll be coming from Europe to LA, to go to College.
I'm 18 and planning to get a license in LA.

I'd probably lease a car for about $400/mo or so, I was wondering, a rough estimate (i know it depends per car etc), for a 18 year old male, CA License, how much would insurance cost me, $100? $150?
Maybe camaro, BMW , or so.

Also, how long does the whole process of getting a license take? I wanna know how early I should come to LA so I can get things sorted out

Thanks.

An 18 year old foreigner with no licensed driving history trying to lease a BMW on his own? You're going to need a co-signer and a barrel of money. Your insurance will be insanely high. You're looking at around 2500 to insure a BMW 3 series for a year. That's just from a quick standardized quote from Progressive.com.

And LA is not the best place I'd recommend anyone taking road/driving skills tests. I feel bad anytime I pass a student driver in this traffic. As far as long it will take you to get a license... are you licensed in your EU country? Either way you will most likely have to take a driving and written test. Depending whether or not you've driven at all before or taken classes will also reduce or increase the time it takes to license up.

The California DMV website is a good place to start. Driver License Information for New Drivers

Non-EU. I was expecting around $150/mo for insurance. Camaro's look nice

I think CA Laws are that even if I have a license, if I'm living in CA I MUST Get their license.

How can I get a co-signer... I'd be a student there, that's kinda stupid.

I'm not 18 yet, I have no license... I'd get my first ever license in CA (I'm non-EU too btw)

I prefer to drive a nice car, and I can afford leasing. Sounds weird, but it is as it is.

So It will cost me $200/mo in insurance....

How long does it take to get the license (I've never had a license before) in LA?
In other words, how long till I can drive?
Thanks

It seems like you have a lot of money. If that's the case you can find a nice car and just buy it instead of leasing.

I don't live in LA, so I wouldn't know. But where I live, the day you pass the test is the day you can get your license. I imagine every state is like that.
