Hi,

I'm moving to L.A., but I have no idea which area I want to move to. I've been there only once for a business seminar that was at the W in Hollywood.

A little bit about me: I don't drink, so I won't be going out to bars or clubs very often. I work for myself so driving to a job is not an issue for me.

I'm into personal development, spirituality and business so I'd want to go to business seminars and retreats often. Go to Yoga classes, maybe take a martial arts class. I love to workout as well, so it's important that I can get to a gym fairly quickly. I'm kind of an outdoorsy type so being able to get out into nature would be awesome. Having some Vegan or Raw Food restaurants nearby is also a plus. I'm looking for a place that is pretty low in crime. Price is not an option...I can afford pretty much whatever. I'm single...no family, so schools and things of that nature are not important. I'm 35 so being around other people around my age would be great....I prefer younger to older.

Any ideas? Need any other info from me?

Thanks!

My sister is a vegetarian yoga/pilates instructor on the west side and there seems to be a lot of work, places to eat, etc for her there. I'd second Santa Monica and Los Feliz. Also West LA, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Hollywood Hills.

If your budget is unlimited, definitely Santa Monica.

Why Venice or Marina del Rey if you can afford Santa Monica?

Santa Monica is all about the outdoors, healthy living, not far from the nature of Malibu/Topanga,

Thanks ya'll! I did a little research on Malibu and seems too isolated for me. I'll look into these other areas.

Another vote for Santa Monica or Venice. Preferably Santa Monica if you can afford it.

Venice if you can afford it, Mar Vista or Palms if you can't. Both of those areas would be closer to Venice/SantaMonica/WestHollywood where you might have some good work opportunities. They are also pretty laid back areas with good access to transportation and amenities.

venice/santa monica or west hollywood. santa monica is pretty touristy though, venice if you want a more local vibe. west hollywood is much different but also a great place to live especially with an unlimited budget. Can be a long drive to the water if there's traffic tho.
