It wouldn't be possible to get enough rain in a single day. We would probably need this much rain every day for months on end to get "enough."

Too bad there isnt enough infrastructure to capture the rain that goes in storm drains and into the rivers of all counties and save it for "a rainy day". If every house and building captured rooftop rain water, they would have enough to maybe water their lawns and plants for one or two weeks with it. Even the desert communities can capture the summer desert monsoons and use that.

I agree... with all this technology, oil pipelines, etc. etc... you'd think we could come up with a better way of saving the rain!

Maybe homeowners should start building their own little (fenced for safety of course) reservoirs.

What I meant was that I was hoping for enough soil saturation such that I could skip several waterings. But alas, I'll be turning on the sprinklers tomorrow.
